It was announced today that Dolly Parton has passed away and, although she was not a southern gospel artist, Dolly was loved by some of the southern gospel fans and artists, and she sang some gospel music, so I think it’s fitting to mention her.
I learned more about Dolly in the last few years than I had known previously. I always liked her voice, but I was surprised to discover that she was married to the same man for 59 years, and she said they were faithful to each other. That is unheard of in the world of show business.
I also became aware of Dolly’s Imagination Library, where they send books to children under the age of 5. I know one little girl who was the recipient of those books, and she loved them.
As I was scrolling through Facebook posts this evening, someone mentioned this song, and I thought it fitting to share it here. Jesus is alive, and one day, all of those who have accepted Him as Lord and Savior will be alive with Him in Heaven.
