January 2025 Archives
15 Years and Counting
January 23 marked Southern Gospel World’s 15th anniversary, and what a journey it has been. I’m thankful for this blog and for you, my readers. Without you, there would be no reason to write.
I’ve been absent lately in part due to starting a new job last summer. I’m usually tired in the evening which makes it hard to wrap my brain around writing, but I’ve also been praying for the direction in which to take the blog. I like the idea of continuing to write CD and concert reviews and Southern Gospel news as well as share the things God lays on my heart. I’d also like to incorporate book reviews when I come across a book I think is worth mentioning. But then I don’t know if I need to rename the blog. My view is that the Christian life is all-encompassing regardless of the name, but I know not everyone thinks that way. For now, I’m thinking to continue as I’ve been, but if you have any input, please let me know.
Meanwhile, my mind continues to contemplate life: What have I accomplished? What is God calling me to at this juncture? Am I living in a way that pleases Him? These are questions we should all be asking on a regular basis. Every Christian was born for a reason. Make sure you are following the Holy Spirit and fulfilling God’s plan for your life.
